Why a consultation with us long in advance is important
Unlike universities in Russia, the deadline to apply to an American University is right around the 1st of January. If a student decides after this date to attend a university in the US, then they will be too late for the coming academic year in September.
To enter any US university a foreign student must present either results from the IELTS or TOEFL exams, exceeding a minimum score (that differs between universities). This must be submitted with the application by the 1st of January. The English Club will work together with you in order to determine which exam you should take, what minimum score you need and as the premier English language company in the region, we can help you to prepare for this very important exam. As a matter of fact, the English Club is an official testing location for the IELTS exam and we offer preparation courses for IELTS and for TOEFL.
The best time for a parent to first consult with us would be almost two years prior to their son or daughter being ready to enter the university. This is the optimum amount of time to first investigate the available options and then for us to chart out a plan to obtain the desired goal. Although, we can certainly work with less time than this, two years presents a more stress free journey to your objective.
If you are interested in a short term program, such as a summer English language program, then two years is not required, but 6 months would be good. The deadline for summer programs is typically by JUne 1st, but late registrations are sometimes allowed.
